Our cookie cutters are made with PLA, a biodegradable, plant-based, plastic material that is generally recognized to be food safe. Please note, however, that various dyes and additives in the material can be toxic. Also, 3D printed objects have small ridges and pores that can trap particles of food and lead to the growth of potentially harmful bacteria. If you are going to use a PLA cutter more than once, it should be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized with warm, soapy water. At high temperatures PLA is susceptible to warping so DO NOT put your cutter in a dishwasher. Be advised, however, that there is no guarantee that a 3D printed cutter can be adequately cleaned enough to meet the FDA requirements for a food safe object.
